khewra Salt Mine


The Khewra salt mine near Pind Dadan Khan in the Salt Range region of Punjab, Pakistan, is actually 'Wonder of the World’. The Salt Range originated 800 million years ago, when an area of ​​300 km under sea water evaporated, followed by a geological stir. The crab is 100 miles south of Islamabad and is easily accessible by the M2 motorway at the Leela Interchange.

Khewra Salt Mines is the world's second largest salt mine, Pakistan's largest mine and the worlds oldest salt mine. The mine is famous for the production of the famous Pink Himalayan salt and is a major tourist attraction around 250,000 visitors a year. The Khewra Salt Mine is a magnificent journey and apart from the production and heritage of the mine, it is a magnificent place.

Salt wonders
While walking inside the mines, visitors come across a mosque, a model of Minar-e-Pakistan, a dispensary, Chaghi Parvat and some other colorful buildings like Marvel made of salt bricks. The luminous Sheesh-Mahal, or palace of mirrors, is another attraction in the mines illuminated with colorful bulbs with ponds made of transparent salt and water.

Cost
As ‘foreigners’ you have to paid $20 for each adult and $10 for each child. As a locals Pakistani pay 220 rupees per adult. There are also many hotels for visitors with the average package for a night is about 5000 to 8000.

Nankana Sahib


Nankana sahib is a city situated in Punjab province of Pakistan. It is named after the first guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak, who was born in this city and began preaching here. Nankana sahib is the most important religious site for the Sikh religion. During the Akali movement, on 20 February 1921, Narain Das, the Udasi mahant (clergy) of the gurdwara at Nankana Sahib, ordered his men to fire on Akali protesters, leading to the Nankana massacre. The firing was widely condemned, and an agitation was launched until the control of this historic Janam Asthan Gurdwara was restored to the Sikhs.

Migration between India and Pakistan was continuous before independence. By the 1940s Western Punjab was predominantly Muslim and supported the Muslim League and Pakistan Movement. After independence in August 1947, the minority Sikhs and Hindus migrated to India while the Muslim refugees from India settled in the Western Punjab and across Pakistan.There are plans to construct 100 acres (40 ha) university as well as hospitals and health care facilities by the district government with mutual interest of local communities and family of Rai Bular.

In 2007, the Pakistan government announced a plan to set up a university on Sikh religion and culture at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak. Chairman of Pakistan's Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Gen (R) Zulfikar Ali Khan, said that "The international Guru Nanak University planned at Nankana Sahib would have the best architecture, curricula and research Centre on Sikh religion and culture",

Shandur



Shandur Chitral is located at a distance and is famous for the Polo festival and is also known as the roof of the world as it is the highest in the world with an elevation of 3700 meters. The top is aircraft and can be crossed between late April and early November. The most popular places to see in Shandur are the Polo festival, Shandur Pass and Shandur Lake. All these places will be memorable and unforgettable for the tourists visiting here.

  • Polo Festival:

Polo festival is a three-day festival which is held every year from 7 to 9 July in Gheesar District of Gilgit Baltistan. Match played between the pictorial district and district of Gilgit Baltistan. There are number of tourists visiting this polo festival, especially at national and international level. Some stalls are also open to show culture and artwork skills and local food items are also served.

  • Shandur Pass:

The Shandur Pass comes on a jeep traveling between Chitral and Gilgit, which is covered all winter and becomes greener when melted in summer. When passing through this area of ​​avalanche it becomes an adventure when you are traveling on this route and land slips can lead to road blocks and are normally very risky due to snow patches.

  • Shadur Lake:

This lake is accessible from both Chitral and Gilgit. When you are going from Chitral it is 147 kilometers and from Gilgit Baltistan it is 197 km. It is truly a peaceful and naturally beautiful place.



Malam Jabba "Hindukush"


Malam Jabba is a hill station near Swat Valley in the Hindukush Valley, about 40 Kms from Saidu Sharif situated in Swat valley in KPK province of Pakistan.  Not only this, Malam Jabba is home to one of the two ski resorts in Pakistan; the other is at Naltar, Gilgit Baltistan. On the main Madyan-Kalam road, the road turns to the right at Manglor town (12 km from Saidu Sahrif), for the Malam-Jabba Dara which has a series of small villages and settlements.
like Salanda, Jehanabad, Talegraam, Badar, Ser, Malam, Kishora, Spine Oba, and finally Jabba. Malam is a small village which comes prior to Kishora village on the main Malam-Jabba road. Malam is nearly 17 km from Manglor while Kishora is at 18 km distance. Jabba (12 km from Kishora) is the upper most part of the whole Dara (gorge). The Malam Jabba Ski Resort, had a ski slope of about 800m with the highest point of the slope 2804 m (9200 ft) above sea level. Malam Jabba Ski Resort was the joint effort of the Pakistan with its Austrian counterpart. The resort was equipped with modern facilities including roller/ice-skating rinks, chair lifts, skiing platforms, telephones and snow clearing equipment.

Malam Jabba is now becoming one of the top tourist attractions in Pakistan, due the new work done by the tourist company. The hotel and management of the roads is recently placed now, and people are liking it because this place is in Hindukush mountain range and the chairlift is just placed now. It is the one of the most beautiful part of Hindukush mountain range and it enhances the gorgeous glimpses of what a gorgeous landscape could be.

Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows, named by German climbers and locally known as Joot, is a grassland near one of the base camp sites of the Nanga Parbat, located in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Fairy Meadows the 9th highest mountain in the world and 2nd highest in Pakistan after K-2, is in a green lush plain from where you get striking views of Nanga Parbat, starting from a vast glacier which, gradually, ascends to the foot of that huge ice block.



Fairy Meadows is a very popular tourist attraction among the locals and it can get very very crowded so avoid peak times like the midsummer months or during public holidays. From Raikot Bridge, the jeep will take you through one of the bumpiest roads you will ever experience in Pakistan. The roads zigzag its way up the rocky mountain for about 1.5 hours and you will arrive at a village, where the trail head begins. From the village, the trail gradually climbs for about 2 hour, and then it goes up steep for about 30 minutes until you arrive in Fairy Meadows. At Fairy Point, you can begin your trek! If you are unfit, it’s possible to hire a donkey to carry you or your luggage.



If you have a tent, you can pitch up but good luck getting away without paying somebody something, the locals at The Fairy Meadows are keen to make money out of visitors. Greenland Resort by far offers the best view of Nanga Parbat with a clear view over the glacier towards the mountain.

Siri Paye


The peak's top offers spectacular views. Places easily seen include: Azad Kashmir, Jhelum River , Tarbela lake, Abbottabad city, Havelian, and Thandiani. On a clear day the 'treacherous' mountain Nanga Parbat can be seen Take 1.5+ litre bottle of water with you, you may also take biscuits, slice or lunch beverages to be eat at the top. Its a tough hike and there are no shops or food stalls on the top so make sure you take your own food items along with you.



Siri Paye is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 3.058m above the sea level, located in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. On your visit to Shogran, must visit Siri Paye Meadows and Siri Lake. Siri Paye brags beautiful green mountains and snowcapped tops, with a serene domain and characteristic excellence that is soul-mitigating.
  Street condition from Shogran to Siri Paye isn’t too great however this place merits seeing. On the rich green level of the Kaghan Valley, close to the slope station of Shogran, lies the beautiful Siri Paye. After a tiring and challenging jeep travel from Shogran, vacationers are met with a glorious scene including a lake settled upon the green knolls of Siri Paye. The place is the ideal escape spot from a hustling and clamoring city life. The trail is pretty steep. Starting from Kiwai, at 1.502m above the sea level, the ascent is 13.8 km long. Heavy snow keeps valley covered throughout the winter season.  
Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. Warm clothes are recommended for nights due to low temperature. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous dropoffs. Some turns are enough to raise your hair. While at Siri Paye, visitors can remain in rest houses or camp in the wide spread of green knolls.


Miranjani

Miranjani is the highest peak, at 2,992 meters in elevation, of Abbottabad District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. From Nathiagali to Miranjani is a track of near about 10km ascend and 10km for back. It’s a one day track which is very beautiful. It’s a jungle track.

The real enthusiasts can walk up a track starting from the Governor’s House to the top of Miranjani Hill, a beautiful trek that takes 6 to 7 hours both ways. Guide can be hired near Governor House Nathia Gali which may charge 500 or so.

Miranjani is an attraction for hikers. From Nathia Gali it takes four hours to reach the peak via a steep track. Another route starts from the Governor’s House. From Miranjani one takes many short strolls through the pine forests in Ayubia National Park. The top offer scenic views of next virgin hills. The trek can be more extended up to Dagri Rest House, Beeran Gali Rest House and upto Thandiani (02-03 Days).
